Little Dove Theatre Art [MELBOURNE, AU]
Little Dove Theatre Art is a physical theatre company that aims to create works that explore the physical manifestations of different kinds of love. LDTA debut show ’six women standing in front of a white wall’ is a Butoh-inspired performance installation that asks: What is the effect of touch or no touch on a human being? In ’six women standing in front of a white wall’, we explore the possibility that it is not necessarily a particular kind of love that we crave (ie. romantic love or erotic love), but a physiological need for human touch in order to survive.
The Actors’ Temple [LONDON, GB]
The Actors’ Temple continues the quest for absolute authenticity in acting which began with Konstantin Stanislavski and led to the Moscow Arts Theatre, which in turn influenced The Group Theatre in America in the 1930s. When The Group Theatre dispersed, Sanford Meisner continued this search and finally struck gold. Founded in 2002 and run by three actors, Mark Wakeling, Ellie Zeegen and Tom Radcliffe the training and production values of The Actors’ Temple make us the first acting company in the UK to truly carry on the development of these findings. The Actors’ Temple is the largest community of independent actors in the UK with a shared ethos and technique. Our aim is to become the leading influence in dramatic film making in this country and to revive the tradition of the repertory theatre whereby company members continuously rehearse and produce plays.
